I want to help you look and feel your best after surgery
I am an occupational therapist who is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) and Certified Plastic Surgery Therapist (CPST). I have over 15 years of experience specializing in manual lymphatic drainage. I provide skilled mobile private pay sessions focused on reducing swelling, discomfort, and bruising. Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) can speed up recovery time, refine surgical outcomes, and boost overall satisfaction.
Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle yet powerful skin-stretching technique. It is not a massage. It helps reroute swelling from overburdened healing tissues. MLD has specific postoperative benefits such as reducing swelling, and bruising; preventing and managing scars and fibrosis; and promoting wound healing. MLD also has general benefits such as improving systemic detoxification, digestion, mood, and sleep.
All treatment is performed with anatomical knowledge of the lymphatic system, and clinical knowledge of the procedure you had performed. I require a physician's referral to promote a team-based approach to your care, and work within your surgeon's postoperative protocols.
Sessions are generally 50-60 minutes and will be customized to address your individual areas of need including: face/neck, body, and extremities. A whole body approach is utilized in most cases. MLD can be performed preoperatively to prepare for surgery, or postoperatively beginning at your surgeon's recommended timeframe. It can be performed 1-2x per week for 3 to 4 weeks, or may be tailored specifically to your needs.
